This was received from the South African importer today. However we will be looking at supplying Douglas,Bukowski, Mary Meyer products, similar to Jellycats.
Jellycat Update
It is with a heavy heart that we share that after many wonderful years of partnership, Jellycat has made the decision not to continue supplying South Africa.
While we deeply respect their decision, it is one we received with great sadness. Jellycat has been such a special part of our journey, but even more so, it has been a shared experience between us and you — our loyal customers. From the excitement of new arrivals to the joy these pieces have brought into homes, nurseries, and as heartfelt gifts, it has been an incredible chapter that we have been privileged to be part of.
We would like to offer some reassurance that this decision is not unique to South Africa. As part of Jellycat’s broader strategic direction and future planning, distribution to a number of similar markets has also been discontinued as they consolidate supply into selected larger regions.

Heirloom Teddy Bears
From time to time, in the shop, a request is made for a teddy bear that can be passed from one generation to another. Also they are wanting a teddy bear that has not been produced in the Far East. Here we can offer, Steiff mohair teddy bears, that are made in Germany, and Merrythought mohair bears made in the United Kingdom. Mohair is a natural fibre and lasts for years, can can easily be passed don the family line. In my private collection, I have both Steiff and Merrythought bears dating from around the 1940’s. These bears are still in good condition for their age. It is worth that extra expense if this is what you are looking for. Deans and Clemens mohair teddy bears are also made in Germany.
