Regarding purchasing ” pre owned” bears and plush animals, this is a market I am not involved in. I suggest you contact an auction house, or try selling online.
I can advise :If you do decide to sell online you sell the bears in groups. If you have a Steiff Bear, I would add 2 less expensive bears. Or if inexpensive bears, I would group 4-5 bears together. This way you will get more value for your bears than listing them individualy.
To get an idea of the value, google the bear- the name i.e. Steiff 111111- or Charlie Bear AAAA- this should bring up information on the bear, and this will give you an idea as to what you can sell for.
Most bears do not have a high selling price. A very rare bear, in good condition with all identification will fetch more than a bear with no identification, irrespective of the age of the bear. This is why old Steiff Bears, good condition with identification/certificate /box etc will fetch a much higher price on in an auction.
DO NOT EMAIL ME AS I AM UNABLE TO ASSIST FURTHER.
The same with valuations, I am not trained in giving a valuation on your teddybear/animal, and can only give guidelines. I do have a section on my website on how to identify bears, this might assist.
Vectis Auctioneers in the UK, are extremely helpful, and will offer advise, and will also help with identifying a teddy bear.
